12142 Canada 297.164684 0 1984.440706 0 0 2281.60539 1. The information is based on the results of the Canadian National Water and Wastewater Benchmarking Initiative (NWWBI, https://nationalbenchmarking.ca/about-us.htm). “The partnership represents 43 of Canada’s leading municipalities and regional districts from coast to coast with a service population greater than 50,000. Their combined service population represents over 60% of the Canadian population.” In other words, the data are not representing entire Canada. 2. Each year NWWBI has slightly different number of participating municipalities. Some new cities join the project, some participants are leaving the project based on their priorities and available budget, some municipalities decide to drop or join different project modules. For example, one year a municipality might be participating both in Water Distribution and Water Treatment modules. Next year it may quit the Water Treatment module but still submit the Water Distribution data, etc. The total values may change significantly from year to year if a bigger municipality leaving or joining the project. Both these major factors can affect the total abstraction and consumption volumes from year to year. In this questionnaire I always report the total amounts regardless the selection of participants each year.

12191 Latvia 52.108995181059 Data below (except country population and average household size) are given about the water management service providers (merchants), that are regulated by the Public Utilities Commission (PUC). PUC regulates 59 biggest water management service providers in Latvia and they cover the biggest part of Latvia's consumption. Smaller merchants and municipal institutions (e.g. municipal agencies) are regulated by the local municipalities. But at the moment due to the administrative reform many of thoses service providers are reorganized and their water managements systems are given to the regulated merchants.
12192 Lithuania 53.917165581823 Regarding the increase in the population served by water supply, we would like to clarify that the data reported for 2022 did not represent the number of inhabitants. Instead, due to an error, the figure referred to the number of customers (service connections/users) rather than the population served. The 2024 data have been corrected and now represent the actual number of inhabitants served by the public water supply system. Therefore, the apparent increase between 2022 and 2024 is due to the correction of the reporting methodology rather than a real increase in the population served.
